I cannot tell you I am full enthusiast for its design, but I like in particular the clear simplicity of each element of this design. On a quick look, you can identify the different elements like the logo, the menu, the introduction, the contain and the footer. All over web sites had to be similar in the clarity.

The purple is a colour which is not easy to meet on a web design, but this colour does not hurtful to this web site which is really pleasant. The contain is easy to read and you can move inside without to meet any problem. I especially like the home page and portfolio icons.

Without to put the originality on the left, this design put on the front of the stage, the simplicity of use as well as the easy reading. The menu on the top is especially easy and useful to move page to page without to get lose. Only a negative point regarding the footer which is really too long….

A good example of an unique one page website. I love the work which as been made on the different elements transition. Colours are very nice too. The must of the must on this site, is the high graphical and original footer.

An amazing work is applied on this pleasant and original web design which also stay clear. The must for me are its header and logo out of papyrus.

To make it short, I can say that this design is perfect. All is beautiful and useful, nothing heavy regarding the graphic or the texts, finally complete success. All my congratulation to the webmaster.

From my point of view, this Kit graphic is really nice, the metallic effect is perfect and bring a touch of originality to this software of staff management. I especially love the “Tour” page giving the possibility to get an overview application benefits.

The readability of a website is really important, and even in some case much more important than the design itself. The first selection of this list is a good illustration o this concept, even if its design is not incredible, it is amazing how this website is easy to read. But in fact, the perfect design results of a mix of readability and originality. Think about this for your next websites creations.

Perfect Ipad round up for Apple’s webdesigners and developers

Regarding Apple’s point of view, since the 3rd of April, date of the official launch of Ipad in the shops, more than one million of unites have been sold! It seems than enjoyment to be owner of this new high-tech toy takes over the correct meaning making a sense, but you certainly know that the Ipad has many deficiencies like the impossibilities to add an expand memory, to plug any type of devices through an USB connection, using a webcam, or surfing under Flash on the web. But it is also true that its several functionalities make it really pleasant in use, functionalities, which will certainly bring good services to its users and help them in their different daily tasks: emails reader, video player, (movies, Youtube), pictures explorer, etc…. But we are now ready to introduce to the main subject taking our interest most of the time: the design. This device appears like an Iphone but with its own specificities. For sure you can see them on the device itself, but also on the Apple’s official website, where Ipads technical features are described in detail.

The effervescence of the web

After the launch of Iphone, lot of applications came out to enrich the Apple store, and then, main of these applications got their own website for their show of strength, and following the trend, put in front of the stage an incredible quality on the ergonomics as well as on the design. Today, I would like to see the Ipad taking same way than the Iphone, but no need to wait longer on it, find out now a selection of 10 websites dedicated to an Ipad application with noteworthy designs.

As Apple made it with its Iphone, it found one more time the good target with its Ipad, entering into the market world with a successfully completed device and really efficient, even though some negative points like missing USB connections or missing possibilities to increase the memory, the Ipad stays as an incredible power of condensed technologies, as well as a widget which could soon become the reference for main of you. But notice that the biggest challenge of this Ipad will be for it, to persuade of its utility, because located between a phone, a TV, a numeric board and a PC, customers get lost. I can already schedule next step in next months, for the first check-up, when emergency of first competitors will makes its effect

Today, the design created on different types of bases, looks like an essential thing in our modern life. The design can be found on cars, wears (have a quick look on the last post dedicated to the t-shirts designs, click here to read this post), furniture, and today as well in our houses et particularly on walls.

The wall design can be defined under different forms : paintings, frames, combination of materials, as well as stickers. This fashion style took place everywhere, for few years now, in houses, shops, public places…but what is exactly a wall sticker, and where does this trend come from ?

The decorative wall design appears for the first time in year 2005, in the deco-publications.
A part of people worships it, the rest of them hates it, but for both of them, it does let them incurious….

To uncover the mystery of stickers universe, I am going to explain to you the principal steps of their manufacturing and giving you addresses of some good shops…. I will take my attention on the monochromatic sticker because main of visuals created with this support are much more interesting than visuals created by pressing.

Their manufacturing in based on scissor vectored visuals, with help of cut-plotter.
A plotter is a bit similar to a printer, with a cutter taking place of printing heads.
This tool allows the cut of vinyl matching with the vector model.

The technical method…

To start, I use a bitmap vector picture or an original creation, then, I work under Illustrator. Each file has to be concluded in a draw mode, because it is the path used by the plotter for the cut..

As soon as the vinyl is cut, remove the unused pieces, this is named “tree-pruning”.
A film transfer is finally applied on the sticker, it will make the lay up easier

20 incredible examples of smooth horizontal and vertical sliding navigation websites

There is an effect that I especially love on the websites, I don’t know if you have ever seen this effect often used for portfolios or photographic galleries, I can name it a smooth sliding navigation.

This concept is to put a lot of content, generally a bio, references lists, services, and a contact form on a same page but separated by a large space. The result is a very very long page … not really easy to browse it, but you can switch the steps with a menu and with a sliding animation.

The must on these websites:

You can load the website just one time and you can browse it really fast after its upload
You can separate the different parts of the page with different universes
You can create a really KISS website (easier using and reading)

Ok it’s my mind, I find this effect really cool, and my future website (my portfolio) will use this sliding effect!

This website is not an incredible webdesign performance but I can say it’s a good job, the pages are clean and professional, and the most important thing for an Hotel website, after I visited this website I got fancy to take a room for a night I especially loved the header, the menu and the HD background!

Showcase of Inspirational Surreal Paintings

Surrealism is borned in the 20’s, started by Andre Bretton and made by famous artists like Dali, Miro and Magritte.

The belief of surrealist works contain elements of surprise that depict the abstract and the psychological. Many Surrealist artists (and also writers) feel their work is an expression of philosophical movement.

Surrealism’s impact in the visual arts movement used techniques from Dadaism (example using photomontage, collage and assemblage), exposed psychological meanings of images by changing ordinary objects out of their normal significance, creating a meaning beyond ordinary formal organization, in order to evoke psychological “emotions” from the viewer. The Surrealist technique stood for abstract and the psychological and came at a time in the modern period of art, where artwork reached into the psyche and depicted individuality.

Even though the Surrealist group broke up 20 years later, individuals are still making painting references towards this artistic movement and below are the most interesting pictures I found on Deviantart.

Alot of the images below were inspired by Salvador Dali, probably the most recognisable face in modern art. It’s difficult to sum up Dali in a paragraph, but he was a (mad) genius who used the media to promote himself as a showman, he looked at his surroundings differently, gave objects personal meaning and had the artistic accomplishments of a skilled draftsman. For me, his greatest works were in a series of paintings he made around the age of 25 when he was just starting to become popular. I’d suggest taking a look the following works by Dali: The Lugubrious Game, The Great Masturbator and the famous The Persistence of Memory.

That’s exactly what I was thinking before to write this post. To find a good destination, I browsed the web and I discovered high quality web-designs with really colourful works!

I’m really proud today to share this collection with you and I will be more proud if you can find a good deal for your own next holidays.
